The only thing I can think of is this.....on the left side of Anzac Square is a building which used to house the old State Govt Insurance Office plus others like the Public Curator etc. On the street level which is Adelaide Street there were and are a few shops. One is/was a tourist office and maybe there was a jewellery shop there too. This building took up the whole block and at the other side in Ann Street, I don't think there were any shops up at that side, but that is opposite Central Station.
