No offence taken, I have a thick hide. Ruth was partly correct. I have already checked the National Library Qld Directories but references only cover property holders and not the persons living at the properties. Prior to 1903 women do not appear on Electoral Rolls. Unfortunately Qld and many other States never undertook Census, or if they did, results were never published. I think the former. My question was fishing for other leads/ideas as the whereabouts of Mary Harding Harris has me totally baffled, especially in the absence of available records. Browsing newspapers has so far proofed unprofitable apart from giving me a headache.
