    3. Good Morning: I have hit the bane of geneaologists - the brick wall, and I'm hoping that you will be able to help me break through. My great-grandfather, Alexander John Davidson and his wife, Mary Ann (Ward) were married in Dublin in 1860, went back to Scotland and then migrated to Australia. They lived in Brisbane until he died in 1923 (Toowong Cemetery), and she died in 1888 (also Toowong Cemetery). I have tried and tried to find some evidence of their migration, but nothing! I must not be looking in the right direction. I believe the year was 1864. Do you think you'd be able to point me in the right direction? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated! 3. Robyn, Have you tried their death certificates?? perhaps that might say how long they were here for.. might help you narrow down a year. I have not been able to find them on the Queensland, New South Wales, or Victorian online indexes.. Perhaps they swam?? hehe sorry I know how frustrating it can be. My family paid their own way.. and as such there is no record of the way they got here only that the Danish end had a record of them purchasing a ticket.. and i know they were here 4 years after that... basically I have no idea either. The only Alexander and Mary Ann Davidson's I could find came to australia in 1842.. according to your dates they were not even married then. Sorry I couldnt help more Regards Sue
