I am desperately looking for death records of my great grandfather, George Baker. He died in 1960s somewhere in Brisbane or Queensland. George Baker was born in Hampshire, England on Feb 1892 but he grew up in Woolwich, England with his mother, Ellen and stepfather, Edward Pearce. George was married to Gertrude Rutherford on June 1915 and they had four children. They migrated to Perth on 1924. George was separated his wife and family during world war two. He moved to Brisbane. I believe he joined his eldest sister, Ellen Walden (nee Baker) and her daughter, Ellen who lived in Brisbane since 1912. I was told that George was drunk and drowned in a river between 1960 and 1965. Unfortunately, Ellen Walden died in 1976 and his daughter, Ellen died in 2002. She was married twice to Carloss and Sanger. They did not have any children. I know where their graves were. I would be greatly appreciate if someone could help me to look up for George or knows any of them. Please contact me. Thanks, Steven from Melbourne.

Hi Everyone, I would like to ask someone to have a look-up for me please, for the marriage of John ORR. Unfortunately I don't have a spouse's name, which makes it very difficult, I should think? The time frame would probably be between 1865 and 1890. He was born in Pebbles, Scotland, in 1845, and died in Queensland in 1925. He is buried in Rockhampton. His father, William ORR, established Ayrshire Park, a property just outside Rockhampton. John became the owner of it when his mother moved to Victoria after 1881.John was also a member of the Gogango divisional Board. I wonder if there would be an obit. for him anywhere? If anyone has any access to any local papers for 21/22nd April, 1925, could you also please do a look-up for me there? Many thanks, Jill.

Hello, Would some kind soul look up any info for this man and his wife/children. He was married to Margaret (we think) The family arrived in March 1901 and Isabella Morrison Rae Brodie Mutch McDonald (Grandma) was born on ship just off Townsville 24/03/1901- . We are under the impression the family came from Isle of Skye. I have looked up a shipping list and it could be that the ship 'Duke of Sutherland' fits this time frame. No one in the family knows where they lived or what he-Alexander- did for a living. My Grandma Isabella married and lived in NQ and is buried in Mackay. Her married name GRAY. She died in the 1960's Thank You, I will be grateful for anything you can come up with. Tracey
