Hello from Melbourne. My G Aunt, Mary Christine (Chrissy) CUNNING, married John WHITWELL in Calliope on 19 Dec 1923. Is anyone researching this line? I have no information at all as to where the WHITWELL family originated. Cheers, Bob Cunning
Dear Listers, I hope it is OK to ask the following: I would like, fairly urgently (next two weeks maximum), some photocopying of immigration records and land records, maybe a map from the Archives - for a reunion. There is no way possible that I'm going to get there myself, so I was hoping someone can recommend a reasonably priced, capable researcher who could do that for me. If so, please e-mail me privately so the List isn't clogged up. Thank-you very much, Kathryn Using Panda antivirus

Hi Bill I remember Keith Gurtner at the speedway - he was known as "Little Boy Blue" as he always wore blue leathers. A champion. I was a speedway fan in the 1960s - that is in my BK days (Before Kids). Have you searched through the National Archives site to find out when the family came to Australia or the Shipping Lists? I would be inclined to try various spellings of the name - I was searching for a "Want" and found them listed as "Vant". One has to be very lateral in their thinking when doing these searches. There are a lot of errors in transcription. Best of Luck. Hi Rosemary, I checked for James again, 1920-1929, in case there was a James with a middle name, married to a Ruby but unfortunately came up with nothing. Regards Werona -----Original Message----- From: Rosemary Davidson [mailto:muttsie@bigpond.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 09, 2006 2:33 AM To: AUS-QLD-BRISBANE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AQ-BRISBANE] DAVIDSON marriages Hello Werona Thank you for your email. I don't know of any middle names but I think that our James probably married Ruby Annie (surname unknown) and had a daughter Daphne Ruby DAVIDSON. They are all buried in the South Brisbane Cemetery so I may need a headstone transcription to find further information. I have only just started searching this family in Queensland so am still trying to find out what records are available, especially online as I can't see me being lucky enough to visit Brisbane! Thank you for your help although as yet I haven't found any links to these 1920-1924 marriages. Regards, Rosemary
