Hi Bill I remember Keith Gurtner at the speedway - he was known as "Little Boy Blue" as he always wore blue leathers. A champion. I was a speedway fan in the 1960s - that is in my BK days (Before Kids). Have you searched through the National Archives site to find out when the family came to Australia or the Shipping Lists? I would be inclined to try various spellings of the name - I was searching for a "Want" and found them listed as "Vant". One has to be very lateral in their thinking when doing these searches.
