It includes voters and people with "claims allowed". It doesn't include anything but the person's name but is useful if you are trying to pin down your relatives. 3. There is no sign of the couple in the Brisbane City Council burial registers, which rules out most (but not all) of Brisbane's cemeteries. If they were still living in Brisbane at the time of their deaths, they were most likely cremated at the privately run Mt Thompson Crematorium. There are some records available for it (but I don't have any easy access to them). The Qld death indexes go to 1964 so very likely someone with access can find a date of death for you for both of the couple. There is very likely a death or funeral notice for them in the Brisbane Courier-Mail, but as there are no indexes to the BDM notices, you do need the approx date of death to go searching. 3. Joanne, well... its yeah how long is a piece of string... but depending on the time period and the church... you might be lucky... the major churches still have the majority of their originals... (some have been lost in the various floods in Brisbane) Do you have a specific church in mind?? It would pay to contact them directly certainly the major churches (cathedrals) have genealogical enquiries sections.. if you write to them you are more likely to get a response rather than calling. I know though St Stephen's (the catholic cathedral) have a microfiche of their early records which are available at the various family history societies... probably someone on the list will have it.. not sure about many of the others however... hope that this helps Sue.
