Hello All Would there be anyone researching the Phillips family below. George and Eliza Philp (Phillips) arrived on the Queen of the Colonies in 1864 with their 11 children from the Dunfermline area of Scotland. They resided in Boundary Road on the corner of Sheriff Street. Boundary Road is now Hale Street Milton Two of their daughters married two Carmichael brothers who had a sawmill and woodturning business in Montague Rd West End in the late 1800s. Jessie Philp married Robert Alexander Rankin who was one of the partners in Rankin and Morrow a manufacturing confectionery company which later specialized in biscuits. Morrow after Rankin's death was to later combine with Arnotts biscuits at Coronation Drive at Milton. The names that are bolded are ones where I have had little luck in tracing their history. 1. Hello, Iam looking for Amy Frances Brown nee Roberts parents Richard Roberts and Elizabeth nee Thomas. Amy Married George Brown around 1904. George died 1951 aged 70 years. A friend of my father is in declining health and we are trying to locate a aunt or cousin of his that he tells us was last living in Brisbane, how long ago we do not know. Recently while photographing headstones in cemeteries, we have often noticed how children's graves in Lutheran cemeteries always seem to be together. Indeed the children are often buried separately to where adult members of their family (or at least people with the same surname) are buried. We have not noticed this in other non-Lutheran cemeteries. Have other people noticed this? Does anyone know why? Is it religious? Cultural? Kerry
