    1. [AUS-QLD] RE a difference in dates?
    2. James Crighton
    3. Hi fellow listers, Has anybody come across anything similar to what I have below and can anyone offer an explanation for the vast difference in the actual year of marriage and the year it was registered: On the Qld Marriage microfiche and CD we have Samuel Plant married Bridget Rafter on the 8th April 1903 and their first child born later that year.........No problem but if you look further it has the reference number 1911/003292 which to me, means the marriage didn't get registered until 1911..........................an eight year gap? Why? Cheers, James

    3. James, thanks for the date as I did not know it. If you put the date into BDM on line and get all who were married on the date it shows them there also, so the CD and the online records are the same. Maybe they followed up the records and found that they were lost in the post or the records were recorded late at BDM. Bridget is my first cousin twice removed and I would like to know the answer to this question also. I am related to the Rafter side and maybe we could help each other as I have a lot of Rafter records. Which side are you related to, Plant or Rafter? 3. If you make a telephone call to the BDM office, and explain the discrepancy in dates, they may look at the original for you to check for transcription errors.Hope this helps.Estelle > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Fri, 29 Jun 2012 05:40:56 +1000 > Subject: Re: [AUS-QLD] RE a difference in dates? > > James, thanks for the date as I did not know it.
