I have started to research my McDougall line and would welcome any information on the family. Here are the details I have to date: John McDougall and Frances Elizabeth (nee McDonald) came from Scotland, possibly Glasgow. Settled in the Beaudesert area as farmers. Two sons born in Australia - Hugh Thomas b.1867 and Francis Ronald (Frank) McDougall b. 1873 (my g-grandfather), so I assume John and Frances came to Australia in the mid 1860s. Frances' death is recorded in 1887 and it is likely that the John McDougall who died in 1888 - notated born Scotland aged 54 - is probably the record since it gives no further information on his family! Frank McDougall married Elizabeth Rachel Summerville in 1905 and they had three children - Douglas (m. Florence May Pope 1935) (my grandparents) , Mabel Emily (m. Francis Hayes) (brought up believing they were my grandparents... yes there is a story there!) and Grace Elizabeth (m. William Rogers 1935). Frank McDougall moved to the Oxley River area and had a dairy farm encompassing (according to family stories!) most of Chelmer and Graceville. Thanks in advance Annette
