Dear list, I am looking for any info on Thomas Henry Chambers, born 1839 in NSW, son of Henry chambers and Jane Turner The family went to Brisbane about 1848 and lived in George st, Henry (father)was a cabinetmaker and owned a sawmill in George st, Thomas Henry worked with his father until about 1868 and nothing is known about him after that. He was the only son but had 5 sisters, Mary Jane, sarah, emma, ,Maria and Anne Many thanks Julie
Good News Julie!!! I think I have found him!!! In Brisbane in the 1840s-1880s there was another series of cemeteries located under what is now a sporting stadium. We have on our index a Thomas Chambers that died in 1867. No parents listed on the death certificate. However on the funeral notice it mentions his procession leaving the home of a Mr Charles BIRD. Mary Jane Chambers Married a Charles BIRD in 1864. So looks interesting.. will let you know if I find anything else. Cheers Sue.
