The Ancestry tree says John Callaghan who married Dorothy Cartwright in Brisbane in 1937 is the son of John Callaghan and Ethel Amelia Peters. But there is no information on Dorothy's parents so it might not be the right lady. But I think this article http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article63378470 points to the Brisbane-based couple as being the right ones. Mrs J. Callaghan of Brisbane visits Mrs W. Lyon of Ingham. Mildred Cartwright (Dorothy's sister) married Walter Lyon and the 1949 electoral roll has them living in Ingham. It looks like your family (Cartwright, Little, Callaghan) http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article62806454 So I am guessing that the best man J. Callaghan went on to marry Dorothy Cartwright some time after May 1937. In this Aug 1938 article, there is mention of Mr and Mrs J Callaghan travelling from Cairns to attend the Cartwright-King wedding. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article62166034 There are various references to a Mr and Mrs Callaghan of Babinda. And the electoral roll in 1949 has Dorothy Joyce and John Allan Callaghan in Babinda. The 1949 electoral roll also has a John and Dorothy Callaghan at Newstead, Brisbane. Following the Brisbane couple in the electoral roll shows Dorothy alone in 1963 (having been with John in 1959) but I cannot find John's death. Perhaps they separated -- that would account for Dorothy being buried with her mother not her husband. Whatever Dorothy continues to live alone at 68 Gellibrand Street Clayfield until 1980 according to the electoral rolls (I have no electoral roll coverage after that).
