    3. No. Best place to ask is Cairns Regional Council. Oo, the council has an office at Earlville Library, I might be able to go there tomorrow or Friday & ask. I haven't been to the Pioneer Cem for years but it wouldn't surprise me if that's where they mean. The Esplanade is all built on now except for the 'beach side' which is landscaped with walking &cycling paths, a board walk & mud flats, & muddies play ground. Cheers. Annie. Very warm in Cairns tonight, the sky fell in earlier but no rain fell down. :) Sent from Samsung tablet Jane OBrien <[email protected]> wrote: > >Hi Greg, >You tell how often I check this email address. Now that things have settled down kinda we should make a day. Monday's are out for me as I do duty at my family history group. BTW you are a family tree of one of members, unfortunately he has moved away, not sure if ever contacted you - Jack Piper. >Cheers, >Jane >  >  >  >I spent the first 17 years living 100 yards from the gates to the >cemetery in Cairns at the junction of Anderson, Martyn and James Streets >and often roamed throught the bush in McLeod Street which turned out to >be the Pioneer Cemetery where my G Grandfather, Edward Alfred DAVIS is >buried (and didn't know at the time) but have just come across a person >with these remarks - "dau/Edward & Jane Isabella (McGregor); bur >Esplanade Cemetery" > >Has anyone ever heard of or know of the Esplanade Cemetery and where it >would have been >Greg > >Please remember to snip most of the earlier message before you post any reply......
