Hello all...... Some of my ancestors from the Darling Downs had photographs done by "F.Raphael"..... My question is.....was this a photographer here in Australia or did they have the photos taken before leaving UK........ Have found a Mary F.Raphael in UK..... These photos , at a guess were taken mid to late 1800s.....were taken and painted over....retouched.... Welcome all input !! Val.

Val have a look in a book called the mechanical eye, has heaps of information on Australian photographers at that time.
