Kerry, Thanks for your suggestions - I found a couple of promising ‘Alexander Morrison’ listings in the NSW & WA death records but can’t be sure without buying each one as they don’t mention his parents (Duncan & Margaret Morrison nee Fraser). I believe none of his siblings in Victoria heard from him again after he visited the one time from Queensland. I will do a search on Trove in NSW and WA just in case he had his own family who may have placed a death notice.
