Hi List I am open to free discussions, but can we get back to research and helping each other. We all have our beliefs, which is great, and we all have our own ideals, but we are here to help, so may I please ask this thread be stopped and lets do what we do best. Remember, if it is out there, it is fair game. It is up to us individually to check and vertify our information and data, and that is to the best of our ability. Take care, live in peace. There are more important things to discuss then this thread.. Anzac Day 2014 Dawn Service at Goodna was tremendous, a lot different and larger than the one we usually attend at Laidley. It was not that cold either, with people in shorts, singlets and shoeless, and others in suits. We were all there for the same reason, to remember our Service men and women and to pay respect to their memory!! I have been watching this conversation going around in circles for some time and feel some have been a little harsh on others. We were all beginners once and had to start some where. We must not forget that most of us started later in life when most ancestors had passed and taken their information with them. So we grasped to what ever details we found. If trees are precious to people I feel they should not make them public and if they do they should not complain if others use the details. Yes we in years gone by spent numerous hours and money to get to where we are today before the internet and if we do not want to share do not post it on the internet and you will not need to complain. I also feel that we should always help others where ever possible. Sure we have all got incorrect details in our tree somewhere and with further research we hopefully will straighten this out. I have had details proven to me by 2 professionals and corrected my line at the top but it is hard to convince some that theirs needs correcting so I leave them go on. But it is hard when people then copy theirs with the same mistakes. Some go on about people with large trees as name collectors but I agree with Chris that this is a way to eventually get further details for your own tree and could be another way to help others Happy hunting in Genealogy Regards Colin __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 9721 (20140425) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com
