Same thing with any tree including familysearch/familytree. Not many want to do any actual research or make conclusions based on evidence. I follow one of my relatives who mucks up familytree all the time, merging folks just because they have the same name without doing ANY research. -----Original Message----- From: Janet Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2014 1:44 AM To: aus-qld@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-QLD] Ancestrys public trees >From my experience as a volunteer at the local FHA, I now find that people are not the slightest bit interested in research, only in having access to Ancestry where they can copy other people's Trees, regardless of whether they be correct or not. They only want to collect names and dates, and depart an hour later saying they have done their Family Tree. Such a shame when research can be so rewarding. Too many people seem to have a fixation on numbers ! I disregard any one who starts talking of their connections in the thousands. Personally I'd rather know everything about 100 people than virtually nothing about 10,000. I assumed (perhaps wrongly ) that people like me who spent big money to subscribe to Ancestry.com would want to have the facts , and nothing but the facts , recorded in their Family Trees. Any uncertainties would be noted accordingly , so I thought ........ I am regularly passing on information to Tree Owners in the hope that the assistance would be helpful and appreciated. I was wrong Still puzzled NZ On Mon, Apr 14, 2014 at 2:14 PM, Leslie Vaughn <leslievaughn@cfl.rr.com>wrote: > Same thing with any tree including familysearch/familytree.
