Thanks for the links. After 'leaving' QLD Rail, Alex headed west with his family with plans to get a 'selection'. It's unclear at this point in time if he got one or not, or how good a dairyman he was! They moved to Brisbane in the by the 30s, so I suspect dairying wasn't his thing.
