Hello all, Does anybody know anything about adoptions, in the circumstances where one person, Rose Kraft, had a child and later when she married Phillip Gordon, I thought Phillip might have officially adopted the little girl belonging to Rose, Julia Adelaide. Any ideas? Thanks Jeanette

Hi Jeanette, I had this in my family.. where the child was born before the marriage of the mother.. to another chap.. and then eventually when she married... the child was adopted by the father. ( it was not until she was 24 years old and about to get married.. which forced the issue) however she was adopted nonetheless. You would have to seek her papers from the department... and hopefully... they might grant you access. be warned though... its not very often they do grant access to people other than the person adopted, or the people who adopted them...
