As a direct descendant of my Grandfather, I was able to obtain his death certificate for 1961.However, I van not obtain the death certificate for my mothers brother who died in 1995. As he is another branch of the family I need written permission / authority from my cousin, his eldest son/ So long as direct descent can be proved there should not be a problem. Other states may differ in their rules, but this is the case for Qld. Perhaps there was confusion over the question of direct descent. I suggest you try again.
