Maree, He may not have died, just left home. It must have been very easy to just get "lost ", especially in a country as large as Australia. Did he drop his last name & became Herman ? My Gt Grandfather did this. He went back to England, ( his birth place ,) from New Zealand, married again, ( no apparent divorce ), & emigrated to Queensland, with his new very young wife & daughter. Has taken me more than 20 years to find him. Carl or Herman as he was sometimes known, "disappeared" between the birth of their daughter Ethel Hilda in 1881, and when his wife Wilhelmina remarried 10th January 1898/000576 to Edwin WEBBER. The 1903 Qld Electoral Roll found Edwin and Wilhelmine WEBBER living at Darley Flat, Pratten, Darling Downs. Wilhelmine Elizabeth WEBBER died in 1920 - Father: Diedrich KOENKE and Mother: Abel NOTHNAGEL. The problem is the disappearance of Carl Franz Herman ZELLER ...
