    3. Brian, I am not a member of AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS@rootsweb.com from which you forwarded the below email from Norman so do not know his research interests. I do not have many resources but would be happy to check what I have to (possibly) help Norman rebuild his database. I am sure others with larger resources than mine would also like to help Norman.... though maybe there should be some external collaboration so that we do not overwhelm him at this very difficult time. It would be nice to give him something collated (to a degree) when he once again has a 'home'. Just my heart thoughts. Let me know your thoughts, and if you know Norman's research names. Comments also welcome. 3. Kess, I agree with you and would like to offer my services. I have Ancestry and Find My Past so can certainly do a lot of look ups. It has been such a horrific time for all of the fire victims and will take a long time to rebuild their lives. This would be some small way to help any of the people in Victoria. We have felt so helpless in these last few weeks but this would be a small way of helping. The offer is out there to not only Norman but any other genealogist who has lost everything. 3. Hello Listers, please let me eplain ......... Norman did not post to this list, it was forwarded by (from email addy) Brian from AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS@rootsweb.com. I responded to Brian, NOT Norman. I was so touched that Norman took the time to alert other genies about the value of back ups and securing your reseach at such a terrible time for himself... this man has just lost not only his 15 years of research, he has lost his home!!! Please re-read my response email below to BRIAN via the list. Personally, I would not be wanting to be giving Norman anything extra to distract him from rebuilding his home and life at this moment, thus my comment on external collaboration to build something to give Norman when his current situation eases and he has time to think on genealogy again. I will try and find out more by emailing Brian direct and will contact (off list) those who made offers when/if I lmow anything that we can assist with.
