Peter was > granted a Ticket of Leave in 1842 Peter MURPHY re Norfolk (3) was granted a ticket of leave in 1840 for the district of Campbelltown ( 40/1560 film # 937) That would allow his to work of himself and he should stay in the Cambelltown district In the convict permission to marry indexes this Peter MURPHY applied to marry a Harriet Haird who CF . He was of Narrellan ( Campbeltown) . That didnt happen. There isnt any ref for him to marry any Catherine THOMPSON and a Pardon in 1847. He became a > Police Constable in Brisbane and later moved to North > Qld - Bowen and > died in Charters Towers 1878. I have his death cert and > marriage > cert.     3. QLD ELECTORAL ROLL 1864 The qualifications are - Every man twenty-one years of age, who is either a natural born or naturalised subject of her Majesty; and who is either - 1.. Owner of a freehold worth ₤100 above all charges and encumbrances, and which has been held in possession six months previous to the last registration. [This latter proviso obtains also in connection with the qualifications arising from households, salary, and board and lodging.] 2.. Occupier of a house or tenement of the annual value of ₤10; 3.. Leaseholder to the annual value of ₤10, whose lease has not less than three years to run at the time of registration; 4.. Leaseholder to the amount aforesaid, three years of whose lease had expired previous to registration; 5.. Holder of a pastoral license from the Crown; 6.. Receiving a salary of ₤100 a year; or 7.. Paying ₤40 a year for board and lodging, or ₤10 a year for lodging only.
