    3. Hi Kerry and Jan! Thank you for the Charters Towers Monumental Inscriptions site. I found 2 Murphys who may be connected to the family - more clues. Also, Jan, thank you for those births / baptisms for NSW with the Qld Pioneer Index. The family I am helping has some of the baptism documents : Margaret 1844, Peter 1848, John 1850 and Edward Joseph 1853 - confirming mother is Catherine Thompson and they were all baptised at Moreton Bay RC. However, Richard appears to have been baptised C of E in 1842/3. It is probably worth getting this baptism, plus the one for Elizabeth with mother shown as Dewn in the hope they are some of the missing children. It seems all the births were registered in 1854 Qld. Would there be more information on the birth certificates than what appears on the baptisms - or would these documents be identical for this time period. Would it be worthwhile acquiring the birth certificates for the children? I also have noticed the marriage was given 2 references: Peter Murphy to Catherine Thompson 1842 NSW (V1842 493 130 and V1842 126691) I have a copy of the last Reference. Would the other reference produce more information? Thanks very much for any opinions and assistance. Best wishes, Judy mailto:sajones@bigpond.net.au For information about my Genealogy Interests: http://sajones.bigblog.com.au/

    3. The references with the V before the year date relate to original parish registers which have been filmed, copies are held at Qld State Library, Genealogical Society of Qld and Qld Family History Society Having looked at these films for a marriage in 1851 I recall they do not show much information other than Bride and Grooms names, and date of event, there is little else on the registers. 3. The reference to Moreton Bay RC, not sure wht that means but it could be the old registers for St Stephens Cathedral, these records are held at the Cathedral Archives and also at the Genealogical Society of Qld Inc as we were allowed to film and index these records. They can be difficult to look up . Transcription only cost about $9 . I reckon that can be money well spend having spent quite a few hours trying to find quite a few refs and ordered the odd transcription Bye MargM QLD List Admin
