I am seeking the assistance of WALKER Families in Queensland to help me in getting any ancestral/genealogical information on this rather elusive character. Information that I have is that he was born James WALKER in Rotherhithe, London/Surrey, UK about 1893. Unfortunately, I don't have any positive information regarding his address or parentage. It is possible that he migrated to Queensland about 1910 where he had family interests. I cannot establish what these interests were. For information purposes I have checked through shipping lists etc.. and have found a few 'possibles', hence my query. James later became a member of the Merchant Navy (Aust) and served on many ships around the Australian Coast and Overseas. I have 'stacks' of information on this. I suppose, that what I would really like to know. is this.? Is there any member of the WALKER Fraternity in Queensland who has any information on James, such as his arrival in Queensland, his relatives in Queensland, and in fact, anything at all regarding his ancestry.? James remained in Australia and died in Adelaide on 18 Dec 1955. Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Jim, in Queensland.
