Lillian Can you please provide more information on what you already know and don't know about this John Henry Adams, as it seems a couple of us have now wasted our time repeating research you have already done, which doesn't help you and burns goodwill into the bargain. Can you provide the most accurate information you have on the birth date, place and parents. Also, despite being born in Vic, you are asking about Qld marriages. Do you have some information that suggests he came to Queensland? If so, what is that information as it may be useful in tracking down which man and which marriage? Kerry
Just a bit more to Lorrae's comprehensive reply - John Henry Adams WW1 file says that he was born in the Parish of Bungaree in/near Ballarat, he was 22-7/12 at enlistment (November, 1914) and enlisted at Enoggera. His NOK is Mr John Henry Adams, Sen., Yarram Yarram. I'm just wondering if there might be some confusion between the elder and younger John Henry's. Reading through the WW1 file, there is a letter from the solicitor acting for John Henry, Senior, which states that JH Junior had been a "Member of the Permanent Defence Forces at Brisbane for about four years before enlisting". Which must mean there is some more paperwork somewhere pertaining to this man. And neither here nor there in relation to the original query, but this letter also refers to the "Lonesome Pine" attack. Now that would have been a sad and haunting name for a memorial to so many dead, and so many dead without known graves. Barbara
