    3. Hi Brian, Thanks for that. I checked it a few years back and yes my Daniel is mentioned with respect to shipping and his land purchase. I was able to follow that up with the Titles Office which was a mine of information. I've sent a query to the State Library to see if they can think of anything too. Qld Family History published it. The State Library will hold it. What I have found instead are a couple of cases where Daniel signed public documents which have been preserved in some form or other. Specifically, it was reported in the Moreton Bay Courier just after his arrival that he signed a petition of thanks along with other passengers, wishing the shipboard teacher well in his endeavours. In the last couple of days it has been brought to my attention that his name also appears on a list of signatories which was successful in having Brisbane proclaimed a municipality on 6th September, 1859. Firstly, I would like to know who holds the original petitions (there were 3), which I assume must still exist in some form for the lists to have been drawn up. Secondly, I am wondering if anyone knows of any other similar public documents which may list some of the citizens of pre-separation Brisbane or which the public may have contributed to. I would like to know what issues were relevant to Daniel and his family at this time and whether he might have voiced his opinions in some forum. Any thoughts welcome.
