    3. Hi Don My second cousin recently discovered our grt/grandfather's name mentioned in the Police Gazette. He followed it up in the newspapers at the State Library and I then followed up more at the State Archives. It was rather devastating news, a family story that was not handed down. He was not in the police force. I would try the local papers near Springsure or contact the Qld State Library http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/ and/or the Qld State Archives http://www.archives.qld.gov.au/ Another avenue is the Police Museum in Brisbane. Email Jones.LisaA@police.qld.gov.au or write GPO Box 1440 Brisbane Qld 4001. There should be a record somewhere which details whatever he did to be dismissed. Be prepared for whatever you may discover. Hope this helps Pam in Brisbane From: "Don Bradmore" <djb100@bigpond.com> Subject: [AUS-QLD] Bernard Connor Hi Listers My grandfather, was Bernard CONNOR (1842-1925).. His marriage certificate says he was a 'constable' when he married Annie HANRAHAN at Springsure, near Emerald, Queensland, in 1873. The Qld Police Gazette (1878, p. 115) shows that he was 'dismissed' from the police force in 1878 but gives no reason for the dismissal. Can anyone tell me, please, whether any other information about this might exist anywhere? Don Bradmore Maldon, Victoria djb100@bigpond.com
