Hi Jo, Have you tried looking for old cook books? Some historical groups publish this sort of thing with grandma's recipes. There may well be ones for the 19th Century. Could try State Library - they may have copies of books of this kind in historical collections. I do have an electronic collection of old family recipies compiled by a family connection of mine. Not sure just how old they are.....If you are interested in this I could check its size to see if it can be emailed. :-) Elizabeth elizabethwest@telstra.com
Hi Elizabeth, Thanks heaps for your suggestions. If the file is a suitable size, I would welcome a copy. Thanks! Hi everyone, I'm trying to find the death of James FRASER. Born about 1895 (Scot) to John FRASER & Christina (Christian) SLESSER/SLESSOR. He married Margaret Skimmings in Glasgow, Scotland 1918. I have both sides of their ancestry. The Fraser family were in Victoria by 1923 (have shipping records). James disappeared from Victoria c.1932 and hasn't been seen since. ;) I've checked Vic deaths to 1985 and NSW to 1978, also Scottish deaths to 2006, in case he went back to Scotland. His family stayed in Victoria. James was a wood cutter/sawyer by trade. I have not been able to identify James in the Electoral Rolls. Just wondering if he wandered up to Qld. ;) Kind regards, Sherrie. -- http://www.silkweb.com.au/
Hi Sherrie, No sign of James in the QLD deaths to 1964. Cheers, Jules. Warren, NSW. (But, still a Queensland girl) julie.dern@bigpond.com http://derngenealogy.tribalpages.com
