Dont mind doing the look ups on the CD. the Nominal Rolls have Birth dates but you have to be careful because so many of the soldiers changed their date of birth so they could enlist... some a lot younger and those that were too old put their years back.. cheers Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Erin Cowell" <erinsullivan_aus@yahoo.com> To: <aus-qld@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 4:49 PM Subject: Re: [AUS-QLD] Queensland Births after 1914 - Any tricks to finding? > Jan, > > I have ancestry so I can look up to 1939 but after that would be great. Jan, Hi again, I would like some look ups please. Is it the QLD electoral rolls that you have? I need to gather some names together so that I don't waste your time. I am chasing my direct family - NOBLE who married into PEARCE, WINDLEY and ANDERSON. I have ancestry so I can see those years but nothing before or after. Before 1900 and after 1939 are the lost years. Would it better to do this off list? Many Thanks Erin (QLD in UK) Erin, Dont mind doing the look ups on the CD. the Nominal Rolls have Birth dates but you have to be careful because so many of the soldiers changed their date of birth so they could enlist... some a lot younger and those that were too old put their years back.. cheers Jan
Hello Erin, I have Qld Electoral Rolls from 1860, but up until 1903 women did not get to vote, and secondly the men had to be British subjects, over the age of 21, and had to own property to a minimum value of £100...etc. Qld Electoral Rolls which include women are 1903, 1913, 1922, 1934 and 1949. Take a look at http://tinyurl.com/HBFHA and click on Geonealogy Links (across the top) - you'll find all sorts of help with your research. Cheers Janet
I have the 1922, 1934 and 1949 ROLLS so just give me some names and I can look them up I dont mind doing it on the list because sometimes some one else will recognize a name and can make a link to your family... its up to you either way is no problem to me Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Erin Cowell" <erinsullivan_aus@yahoo.com> > > > I need to gather some names together so that I don't waste > your time. Hi Jan, If you still can look up the 3 census that you have then there are 3 names to look for. Francis Leonard Alfred PEARCE (lenny), Alexander Milne, Johanna Milne and Charles Henry Windley. Thanks so much Erin (QLD in UK)
