Hi Dennis, I looked up your archived postings to see if you had previously given more information on Francis, but couldn't find one. Names of parents and year of birth would be extremely helpful. And any other information that is available, for example, why you think he died in NSW. Also his mother's maiden name, which he may have used. You might also consider that (a) stonemasons have been known to make mistakes, and (b) the family may have believed incorrectly that he died in 1914. Or he may have done something so unacceptable (marry out of religion, committed a crime, left his family - all dependent on family values/beliefs, of course) that the wider family were told that he had died and that a unknowing family member, at a later stage, thoughtfully had the inscription added. I have, of course, taken Francis to be male, as you have. Do you have birth registration for him? I mention this because the same spelling was often used for a girl. Cheers Barbara
