Hi Lorrae, Further down in the same article (http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/3615189), it states that the Konoowarra departed Brisbane on the same day, bound for Sydney and Melbourne, and lists a SCHAPER among the passengers -- however, it seemed to be a *Miss* SCHAPER, so I checked on Ancestry, and it is certainly a "Miss" -- so, sorry, not your guy. Let me know if you'd like me to send on an image of the passenger list itself? Cheers, Deb -----Original Message----- From: aus-qld-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-qld-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Janet Sent: Saturday, 16 May 2009 3:54 PM To: aus-qld@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AUS-QLD] Shipping arrivals - 1895 Hello Lorrae, The Brisbane Courier dated Saturday 21 December 1895 says that the Konoowarra arrived in Brisbane on 20th December from Rockhampton, via Maryborough. Your A. Schaper is not mentioned as a passenger, but it does say there were 20 in steerage, and he could be one of those, but I would think it unlikely that anyone would spend part of the trip in steerage, and then change over and continue the trip as a listed passenger.
