    3. Hi Jeanette, Just a week is a bit too short for them...Allow at least two weeks... it all depends how difficult the search is.. They are good and quick...as far as I am concerned.. 3. Jeanette, I've waited 2 maybe 3 weeks, (maximum). don't be so impatient for a free service, Queensland doesn't charge unlike some states, and don't forget - some parts have been under floods... 3. This service was great for me. Took over a week but really helped. They couldn't find a notice for me but went to the trouble of looking up cemeteries and found burial. 3. Hello Jeanette, I think the Ask A Librarian service is the most wonderful service - I will sing their praises long and high! If they cant find anything, I have received a scan of a letter to that effect within days - one time it was the same day. Otherwise maybe a week or 2 or 3, if something is found, or you are requesting something specific. They have always gone the extra mile or 2 - I ask for a shipping list and get the shipping list - as well as an account of the journey from the paper/s of the time and if there happens to be anything else relevant - you will get that too - all dated, photocopied and posted! I think the timeframe depends on how many research assistants are available at the time. You do, however, need to be specific with your request. Give them a hand with as much information as you know, and any reference numbers that you can find on-line yourself. I hope you enjoy and appreciate the service as much as I do. I have also had similar service from the WA State Library.
