    3. > The Qld Federation CD cost close on $500 and then not long afterwards an edited version goes on line . Why do they charge so much ? The pricing of the CDs was set to be the same as the pricing for the microfiche for the same period. Having said that, I have no clue why they set the prices they did for the microfiche. The catch with the online version is that they obviously decided to deliberately cripple it by removing the dates. So while it's free and online, it lacks the more complete information compared with the microfiche and the CD, and it is not as flexible for searching as the CDs (although it seems to have improved a little bit since it was first launched). Hi Jenelle. Maybe in Qld, but both of my local libraries have Qld deaths on fiche to 1959 only . The local LDS only had the really early fiche up to abt 1900 and the Central Coast FHS library only has the CDs , mainly because these fiche are quite expensive. Which is the reason why I didnt buy these myself . The Qld Federation CD cost close on $500 and then not long afterwards an edited version goes on line . Why do they charge so much ? 3. > There is a WW1 service file on > Arthur James Cahill (age 34 born Bendigo, next of kin father William > Sylvester Cahill living in Lismore NSW). Actually it is quite entertaining reading. The letter that he writes to get out of the army gives quite a bit of a story about himself (he's an ophthalmic and aural specialist), his landlord, his aged parents, younger sisters. Of course he is not married to Hanora at this point so she doesn't get any mention. Kerry

    3. > My Hanorah STAPLETON was Born in 1894 and married a Arthur CAHILL I can see a Brisbane marriage for this couple in 1920, but what I can't see is any sign of them in the electoral rolls for Qld in 1922 onwards. So I figured they must have moved on from sunny Queensland. And sure enough the happy couple turn up in the electoral rolls for the ACT from 1928 through to 1954. The last sighting of them in 1954 is at 44 Torrens Street, Braddon. Arthur James Cahill is a medical practitioner and Honora Rose Cahill is doing home duties. So I'd try looking in the ACT BDMs for deaths. I had a quick look in the National Archives. There is a WW1 service file on Arthur James Cahill (age 34 born Bendigo, next of kin father William Sylvester Cahill living in Lismore NSW). The NAA also have a army file on their son Arthur Stapleton Cahill born 1922 Lismore. Kerry
