Thanks Jules for the parents' names of Carra (Carrie) Maria. Now I wonder where she was buried ....maybe she actually died in Townsville rather than Charters Towers as I know her daughter was living there when she passed. I'll check that direction. Regards Gloria

Warren, NSW. (But, still a Queensland girl) julie.dern@bigpond.com http://derngenealogy.tribalpages.com
Gloria, Carra Maria, was the daughter of Neils DALL & Marie SMET. (1932/004060). She isn't listed in the Charters Towers burials. Cheers, Jules. Warren, NSW. (But, still a Queensland girl) julie.dern@bigpond.com http://derngenealogy.tribalpages.com
If anyone has access to Qld death indexes that include 1932 could you please look up a record for me. Carrie (Caren/Karen) Maria Pedley died, probably in Charters Towers, on 5th December 1932 and I was wondering if her parents' names were included in the record. Her previous married name was Huxley and her maiden name Dam (she was Danish) but many later records show this as Dall/Dahl. However, at the time of her death she was the widow of Joseph (Jesse) Pedley. Thank you. Gloria
Thank you so much to Kerry for your assistance with Amelia. I've got plenty to work on now. BTW, the Lyndsey Stevens link unfortunately is not the same family, but it was worth a try. Thank you again for your time and help. Cheers Gail

Hi all, looking for assistance in finding information about AMELIA STEVENS, born 17 Oct 1891, somewhere in Queensland, probably around the Darling Downs. Her parents were EDWARD STEVENS and AMELIA PEARCE. I have found a marriage record which indicates that an Amelia Stevens married a HANS CHRISTIAN LARSON in 1915 - don't know where. I've also found a birth record for HAZEL JEAN STEVENS born to Amelia Stevens in 1911, again I don't know where. Any information about any of the above would be gratefully received. Frederick William POTTER is part of my husband's family. We know a number of siblings (Sarah, Susan, Frederick William and probably Joseph) immigrated from the Wilstead area of Bedfordshire to the Zillmere/Geebung area. There was a brother Charles back in Bedfordshire, but we didn't know what happened to him, so we are interested to know that he too may have immigrated. Will contact you off-list with more info. My father came to Australia in 1929 under the Barwell Boys scheme, Little Brothers. Into South Aust 1927. On his application form it states that he had 2 uncles (above) already residing in Queensland at the addresses shown. >From various sources I have narrowed down a marriage of Frederick Wm to a Maria Genefeva WALZ in 1896, C1576 and a marriage for Charles to a Agnes Frances ANDERSON in 1893, B16334 Are BDM certs available at QFHS for viewing, I.E., Microfiche, pls? If yes would SKS be able to see if parents names are mentioned on the marriage certs. If this is not able to be done, is there a transcription service in Qld? And if there is, could I have an address/email so I can get copies done, thanks. Alternatively, are there death records on microfiche, that show parents names for either Frederick Wm or Charles pls. These two uncles families would be the only relatives from this line of Potters that I have in Australia. William and Charles possibly born in Bedfordshire, England. Although I have not followed this through at this stage. Also - are Zillmere and Red Hill suburbs of Brisbane please? and if yes, are they North, South or West and what distance please. Many thanks in advance Ros Adelaide Quoting the entire text of a previous message in a reply is poor netiquette.
