    3. Vicki I suggest that if you have information on who her parents were you could come back to the list advising this and ask if anyone who has access to the microfiche records and check the death indexes to see if the parents names match, but you should also take into account that as she seems to have left her children, she may have also changed her name. The certificates can be purchased through the Registrar-Generals Dept Brisbane Qld on line and the present cost of Queensland certificates is A$33.00. (THe State is short of funds so money has to be gotten from us poor suffering Queenslanders) Barbara BNE ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicki Perry" <vickifperry@hotmail.com> To: <aus-qld@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 21, 2009 9:16 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-QLD] Anne Winterton (nee Parish) London to Brisbane, 1929 > > Thank you very much for the reply! 3. Thanks for letting us know Janet... bur They'll have to fix this in a hurry...... I used a death search, for my grandfather..whose funeral I attended in 1959. I gave the search facility a ten year span between 01/01/1950 to 31/12/1960 His name is Frederick William CAMPBELL he died 15 June 1959 in Bundaberg and is buried in the Bberg Catholic Cemetery.... The online Queensland Historical Records could not find him....Even if they spelt his name wrongly, There is no Wild Card Facility on the site... That problem needs to be fixed as well. 3. Marg Just a note on these dates, recently at a Seminar for GSQ the people from Registras'rs office said they are now working under the 100 year closure and no more birth indexes will be released until 2020 and then they will go on line year by year after the end of the previous year. I do not recall them saying anything about marriages or deaths. 3. Thank you for your reply. I've been having a dig around this evening, and now I have a possible new married name for her, I think I may have found them going back to the UK, on the Incoming passengers lists, 5 years later. The age of this Annie Cuer matches up with my Annie Winterton, so I definitely think it's possible. It seems that my foray into Australian genealogy may be shorter than I anticipated ;-) Thanks for the information about the marriage certificates. It will be money well worth spent to find out what happened to my great grandmother in law! 1. [AUS-QLD] Anne Winterton (nee Parish) London to Brisbane, 1929
    2. Vicki Perry
    3. Hi, I'm completely new to Australian research, so I hope someone can help me! My mother in law has always wondered what became of her grandmother, Annie Winterton (nee Parish). She was born around 1894 in Lincolnshire. She married her husband (Arthur Larrad Winterton) in 1912 and had 3 children, but her husband was killed in the war in 1917. Annie disappeared at some point in the next few years and my mother in law's father was brought up by relatives. There was a family story that she went to Australia, but I didn't have any further details on that until today. In the ship lists on 'Find My Past', I have found details of an Annie Winterton, born ca 1892, who went on the BORDA to Brisbane in 1929 from London. The name and age add up to the one I'm looking for, and her occupation is down as 'tailoring', which is what her husband did before he joined up. So I'm reasonably confident that I have the right person. Does anyone know how I can find out what happened to her? It says that her destination is Brisbane, but maybe she moved elsewhere. Are there any incoming records, marriage certificates or death certificates? I guess she could have remarried and had more children. I understand that some of the records are closed....is there any way around this? I don't know where to start! Thanks, Vicki The Irish Perrys, Vendyback and related families website: www.vendyback.com _________________________________________________________________ Add your Gmail and Yahoo!
