Hi Irene, As you may have realised, I am used to searching QLD records. Just went to the QLD archives passenger lists, and found a lot of people with names such as MINZE/MINES/MINNS etc, but no George. Had a look on Trove too, but nothing between 1880 and 1890 in shipping lists. Lots of unnamed people in steerage though, even listed like that from Sydney. Went to the new QLD BDM's and found George "Alan" and Ellen were married in 1889 (C607) Went back to the QLD archives shipping and found two Ellens. DONOGHUE aged 30 on the "Duke of Argyle" 4/2/1888 DONOHOE aged 15 on the "Corona" 6/3/1884 Do you have a possible date of birth that would rule either of these out? This is only a preliminary look. There is also a passenger list on the NSW Archives site that relates directly to QLD. Haven't looked there yet. Interestingly, in QLD 1882 there is an Elizabeth MINZ marrying a Julius Edward BAARTZ. (C455). If the MINZ family were there earlier, it would definitely be worth looking on the NSW list. Am about to do so. Will get back to you if I find anything. Hello I have been given a copy of a missing person request, It starts: Information is requested concerning the present whereabouts of Edwin Charles St John. It goes on to give his description the date on the request is 19th February 1886 and signed by “The Officer in Charge of Detectives Brisbane. It was instigated by his sister Florence G St John. My puzzle is there is no source on the report, I have checked newspapers from the time and Googled the names but nothing give itself up! He was eventually found, I have the memoriam place in Figaro and Punch in November 1886. If anyone can help find the origin of the missing person request I would be very grateful. Best wishes Pat

Hi Is anyone researching the above person? I am trying to find information on him for a book I am writing. There is a gap in his life from when he arrived from England on the “Jumna” at Rockhampton in February 1888 until he married Elizabeth Jane PAYNTER in Rockhampton in 1905. He is on the Commonwealth Electoral Roll from 1908 (Gladstone & Mt Morgan) then Ambrose and then Rockhampton until he died in Rockhampton in 1949 so I am mainly wanting to know where he was from 1888 to 1905. His brother Robert came out two years earlier and would have been in the Tambo or Blackall area when Herbert arrived so maybe he went out there for a while. Hi On checking the Electoral rolls I have discovered the following In 1954 and 1958 Annie Kennett lived in Pomona The records then indicate in the years 1963, 1968, 1972 and 1977, there was ab Annie Kennett living at 96 Goss Road, Virginia (District of Lilley, Sub District of Nundah).
