I am a new subscriber trying to find information about what I found recently on http://www.worldvitalrecords.com.au/ Arthur & Maud Alice Elizabeth FALLOWS are listed in Lindum in 1922-36 Electoral Rolls. Please can anyone help me find a marriage? Is Maud the following person listed in 1892 Police Gazette Margaret Holmested guardian to Maud Alice Elizabeth HOLMESTED of Wellington St Lutwyche, Brisbane. Would guardian mean she was a minor? In 1870 at Maryborough Margaret Mooney m Arthur Thomas Holmested who later was Station Master at Lutwyche. Margaret was buried there 1906 & Arthur at Toowong 1921 -he is my gt grandfather's brother - but - who is Maud? Arthur arrived Victoria Aus 19 Jan 1857 age 19 on Joseph Tarratt and then 'disappeared' until 1870. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jo in Leics, UK jo.mason@swsmail.net holmested@one-name.org.
Hello Narelle, Perhaps this will help locate the birthplace ~ I've found the family on the 1871 UK census, so will send the entry to your private email address. Hi all, I have been putting together my information for the Harman family that are from Rockhampton. I have worked back and found that Lucy Harman arrived on the Glamorganshire with her family in 1874. HARMAN Charles 33 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN Eliza 7 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN Elizabeth 1 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN Harriett 32 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN Henry 12 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN James 7 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN Lucy 13 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 HARMAN William 4 Glamorganshire 3 May 1874 IMM/114 650 Z1958 M1697 I am having a problem with finding out where Lucy was born and where her family were living before they left England. Different family members have thought different things - one said Kent and another said Huntingdonshire - but neither were certain that they were right. Does anyone have access to the immigration film that they could look up for me to shed light on this family, please? Any information that the film contains will be gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance, Narelle

Jo, As for a Certificate...that's where you will get ALL the information.... An extract gives only partial information.. Cheers Gay
Jo, If you take a look at the Historical registrations section. you will notice that you do not have to provide the ID. All Registrations outside of the closure period you just have to fill in the form and attach the appropriate fee. Be aware however that the waiting period for Certificates is always at least 8 weeks and has been up to 16 weeks of late. I hope this has answered your question Regards Sue.
Thanks to the lovely people who searched for and found my girls. I really appreciate your efforts. Jeanette

Thanks for all the good suggestions... I know of one donor...now deceased...and I haven't seen this photo on Picture Qld, or PictureAustralia. I didn't know about QSA allowing photographs...They are much more accommodating than a genie society I know. Hi Gay, Have you managed to find out who donated the photographs? I have a friend who found a whole series of family photos that were donated and she has had several attempts over several years now to find out who donated them. Information not forthcoming because of privacy reasons. I have wondered if you asked to access the actual file or series that the photos are contained in if you could then take a photo yourself with a camera. The Qld State Archives certainly allows that to be done.
