    2. Janet
    3. Hello Erin, I have Qld Electoral Rolls from 1860, but up until 1903 women did not get to vote, and secondly the men had to be British subjects, over the age of 21, and had to own property to a minimum value of £100...etc. Qld Electoral Rolls which include women are 1903, 1913, 1922, 1934 and 1949. Take a look at http://tinyurl.com/HBFHA and click on Geonealogy Links (across the top) - you'll find all sorts of help with your research. Cheers Janet

    3. Why do you think people come to these lists and ask for help or advice? Maybe they don't know what is available online, maybe they do not have access to libraries or any of the many cds avail. Maybe they are just starting and are looking for some kind soul to help them and direct them. So many times I have seen people ask a question and get jumped on with basically "find it yourself" answer and lets not forget, making sure you use the correct email etiquette! or the world is going to end. I thought we were on this list to help each other? But seems sometimes this is a list for professionals only. regards Kerry

    3. Jan, Hi again, I would like some look ups please. Is it the QLD electoral rolls that you have? I need to gather some names together so that I don't waste your time. I am chasing my direct family - NOBLE who married into PEARCE, WINDLEY and ANDERSON. I have ancestry so I can see those years but nothing before or after. Before 1900 and after 1939 are the lost years. Would it better to do this off list? Many Thanks Erin (QLD in UK) Erin, Dont mind doing the look ups on the CD. the Nominal Rolls have Birth dates but you have to be careful because so many of the soldiers changed their date of birth so they could enlist... some a lot younger and those that were too old put their years back.. cheers Jan

    3. Could I please have a lookup if anyone has a CD of Qld marriages after 1929. I have looked up the online indexes. Mabel Kinsey believed to have married a Mr Brown but not sure. 1919 Electoral roll she was living in Preston House, Queen St, Brisbane. 1922 Roll, same address. Not on later rolls under that name. She was living in Sydney in 1958, not sure when she went there. Thanks in anticipation. Pam in Brisbane

    3. Thanks for all the information from listers regarding Lenna NEILL b.1865 NSW Still have not found her death or where she is buried.I am awaiting a reply from the Catholic Diocese in Cairns if they have any info about her. Lena went under different names in some of the transcripts I have found. Elizabeth Elenor, Helena, Helen and known to all as Lena. There is another Eleanor in the family of Leslie John Morton Neill, Lena's brother. Named as Eileen Eleanor b.1902 Queensland. The area on the Anna River near Cooktown known as Helen Vale is named after her...also Helen Street Cooktown where she lived. Shown with her mother Johanna (Guilfoyle) Neill, who died in 1918 at the age of 85 years and is buried in Cooktown. Looks like Lena is still alive in the 1949 Electoral Roll living in Helen Street Cooktown. My cousin thought she died some years after the war finished. Is there another Electoral Roll for Cooktown 1950 and later please? Would some kind person check if she is on it please as her death and where she is buried is very important to the family Looking at family history transcripts written by members of the Neill family, it seems Lena did not marry but no mention of her death. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Kind regards, Mary
