Hi, some ancestors moved to Australia i think 1906.Can you please help find them ? Hi List, I am trying to locate the late Eric Leo PERKINSON and believe he may have been cremated at Mt Thompson Crematorium. All I know is he died between 1983 and 2006 His wife died April 2009 and her ashes are at Mt Gravatt. Her name is Norma Evelyn PERKINSON. I have requested her funeral notice from Ryerson Index. I know this is not much help but all I have at this stage is his mother's death notice to go on in New Zealand. Eric was born 1924 in New Zealand. Whoops .. I should have said 'compulsory enrolment'.

Compulsory didn't come in until 1911 for Federal, 1914 for Queensland state. Earlier Qld rolls were dependent on land ownership. Perhaps your man was never on an electoral roll. Transportation ended 1868 (??) - once they served their time, they were free men/women, so back to the land ownership question.

They had the following children: Mary Sellar Stapleton Mary married Richard Tibbits Margaret Stapleton Margaret married William Tidy Ellen Ann Stapleton Ellen married Henry Hankey Elizabeth Stapleton Parnell Stapleton Parnell married Daniel CHarles Morley Grace Bridget Stapleton Grace married Thomas Steet John Stapleton John married Helena McKenzie Georgina Stapleton Georgina married Henry Lockhard Louis Stapleton was born on 1 Jan 1881. I have yet to find a marriage for George and Ellen... George arrived here as a Convict in 1850 and between 1850 and 1856 George and Ellen either did or did not marry ...and Mary Sellar STAPLETON was born as Margaret STAPLETON was born on 11 Jul 1856. All other children are registered.... Mary's Death confirms her Parents as George STAPLETON and Ellen WALLACE... dont know yet if Ellen was also a Convict and they met here.
