    3. I just started searching for my first fleeter's since march this year and find getting birth certs before 1900 quite time consuming. By the end of this week I hope to have 7 birth cert two marriage certs but I may be chasing probably another 10 plus birth certs. I am going back to William Saltmarsh, William Standley, Richard Morgan, Elizabeth Hayward/Haywood/Heywood (hard one but getting there) James Lowe, James Reiley, Mary Phillips and a few others that are in my tree. Now is there people out there who want to swap or help. I will go through all the archive in this rootsweb forum plus I am going through LincTasmania plus. My people went from Port Jackson to Norfolk Island to Tasmania in 1803 to 1813. I am checking out some great sites as fast as I can like Claim a convict, Irene Schaffe, FFF websites but when it comes down to verification it requires birth or marriage certs so I am grinding down to a crawl. My wife and I are going to Tassie from Qld on the 17th Oct for a week mainly around Launceston. next trip to Hobart after Xmas and chase some headstones especially Longford. But I would appreciate some help or swap if I can. This is my first post. Some family tree surnames are Holmes-Saltmarsh-Lowe-Clayton-Morley-Wilcox-Graves-Morgan-Hume-Nicholls-WhitchurchSome Thankyou, hope to hear from someone. Cheers Mervyn Holmes-Holding

    3. Hi Mervyn, Re your Longford area headstone search - have you checked http://www.northernmidlands.tas.gov.au/Page/Page.aspx?Page_Id=107 ? I found it excellent for providing online Perth (Tas) headstone photos. 3. Hi Mervyn In relation to NSW BDM records pre 1856, ie, church registers, and depending where you live, you may be able to see copies or originals on microfilm at a library which holds the NSW Archives Kit, such as the Qld State Library in Brisbane. The reference from the NSW BDM Index is a direct link to those records. Saves money too. By the way I have been researching 45 years and still going strong so it does not happen overnight. I also seem to recall that early Tas BDM records can be seen online now. Certainly they have been available on microfilm for many years. Just found this http://www.gouldgenealogy.com/2013/04/tasmania-birth-death-marriage-records-1803-1933-now-online/ cheers Grahame On 12/08/2013, at 5:19 PM, Mervyn HolmesHolding wrote: > I just started searching for my first fleeter's since march this year and > find getting birth certs before 1900 quite time consuming.
