    1. [PJ] James Carter (c1804-1858) convict per "Vittoria"1829

    3. Hello all, I seem to have lost a convict record and cannot recall where I originally found it regarding my twice great grandfather James Carter. Not long after his arrival in 1829 he absconded from a work gang at Parramatta and was sent to Norfolk Island for a period of three years. Can anyone tell me where I can again find details about his journey from NSW to Norfolk Island and return. I do recall he used an alias of Pentecost on at least one leg of the outward or return trip and I hope to prove this was his mother's maiden name. Many thanks, Barbara.
