    1. Re: [PJ] Samuel Collins "Mangles"
    2. Hi Lesley Thanks one again for your input- I again revisited the site I found it and, yes, it does state what I outlined but it does give so many doubts as to why information, which we are unfortunately forced to accept, can be so wrong. The fact that this entry stated that he was a Jew really fitted into family folklore which has always said that there is a Jewish relationship in the family history. I actually was privileged to have Rabbi John Levi, who wrote "These are the names" look at this Samuel which was a surprise to him as he believes that he was able to list all people arriving in Australia, from their possible Jewry, and although there is a documented Samuel Collins , and his brother Abraham, winning a court case against a landlord, he is unable to assist further but believed that there would be a Ticket of Leave for him or an entry in the Archives shipping lists- unfortunately these have proven no assistance at all. Thanks again, there must be some answer to the riddle out there as if the Jewish faith does form part of my heritage, it did not go past my "beloved" Samuel. There was a Samuel Coombes and a James Collins both of whom stated that they were protestants.
