Hello Kerry and Warren, The older one gets in life, the easier it is to accept that one can't have everything. Bother!!! Catherine - I wonder who her Scots family was - seems to have had an unhappy time in the few years she spent here. I have totally enjoyed all the time and research and world-wide chats through the "net" with people, who are/could be/may be not/definitely not... connected to my extended family. Considering how long I have been researching family history, almost 40 years, I feel I have acquired a huge amount of information about many, many people to whom I have a connection, one way or another. Catherine Kennedy is my sole Scots connection, whereas my children and grandchildren have so much Scots ancestry through their father and his paternal line, they should have been born wearing kilts in the MacGregor tartan.!!! The biggest surprise for me was to find my Mother's maternal family came from connections in the Channel Islands, mainly Alderney, and then back to Normandy in France. I knew about the Channel Island connections, but not the French. I am so sorry Mum and her Sisters and Brothers did not survive to enjoy what I have discovered - I'm sure they could have contributed much more, and they had been told they had French ancestry, but they didn't know if that was the truth or a fib, so assumed the latter.
