    3. I would like to join the brick wallers on list. After many years of unsuccessful research and paying researchers, I just wonder If with all the experience of this list I might strike it lucky. My Ancestor Daniel Fowler came to Australia as a convict in 1832 on the Isabella 4. Daniel according to records left a wife and 4 children in England, I have information on his trial in England it mentions his mother only as Mrs Fowler who made an appeal using Business men in Bristol also to appeal for his life, it was successful and converted to 7 years. My brick wall, I can not find Daniels mothers name, his fathers, or wife’s,any suggestions please, his last abode before his arrest in Taunton was Lane End Staffordshire where all the Pottery works were. Daniel was educated, and claimed to be involved in Pottery, he married again in Australia to Bridget Walsh I would like to find the English roots. Thank you Laraine

    3. Hi Laraine, The Indent for the Isabella I (4) states that he received a life sentence and there is no mention of it being reduced to 7 years. He received a Conditional Pardon in 1847 - some 16 years after his arrival. As regards his wife, have you checked the newspapers of the time for Taunton/Somerset or Staffordshire? Regards Lesley Uebel http://www.claimaconvict.net/index.html CLAIM A CONVICT email: ckennedy@bigpond.net.au On 4/06/2013 8:01 AM, Laraine Dillon wrote: > I would like to join the brick wallers on list. > Thank you > Laraine > > >
