Good morning Warren, I made a note from something that I found years ago, that the Catherine Kennedy married to William Marjoram might have also been known as Kate. And, another note, that she declared to Authorities that she was baptised in the Presbyterian Church of Scotland. One of our neighbours when I was growing up, was Don Kennedy, who worked for Film Australia, and he was the Head of the Scots "Kennedy Clan" here in NSW. I have presumed that you descend from William's brother Robert jnr. If you do, did you know that when Robert Marjoram, William and Robert jnr's father, after he served his sentence here, went back to Suffolk, attended his son Robert's marriage to Lydia Moss, and then paid the fares for Robert and Lydia to come here, and *then* Robert Marjoram snr. came back here with his wife Frances, and they came 1st class on another ship. Of the 10 children Robert snr. and Frances had, twin boys died about 2 months old - they did not die on the same day. I'll have to look up some notes Ann Pilgrim sent me, and let you know when all William's siblings were bapt. On the 1851 Census for Suffolk, re Frances Marjoram nee Crowe, her occupation was "Nurse". When she came to Australia after Robert snr had completed his sentence, she went on nursing and acting as a midwife to the families around Meadow Flat and the local gold-fields. All for now, Liz.
