Hi John, I was interested in your comment regarding convicts ex British military being surplus to requirements of the British Army after defeating Napoleon's forces. Has anyone an idea of how many of these men were tried for military misdemeanours and transported out here. I have one in my family tree who was tried at Walcheren which I think is part of Holland then transported to NSW in 1811.
