Hi Janine You would have to check the: Female Factory Index--Parramatta 1826--1848 or perhaps the post 1825 Colonial Sec. Index by Joan Reese. I think that Catherine did not obtain either a TOL or a Certificate of Freedom as many females didn't' bother. I realise that you are living in a very isolated place and that is the reason why I provided you with the info about Edward as I had transcribed it some time ago...... but I do not have at home either of the above two Indices. There was a time when I would pop up to my library many times a week to check these for listers but my time is no longer my own and I can no longer do that. Have you thought to approach the Halls Creek Library and ask if they would purchase various books, microfiche/microfilm or CDs about convicts ? If it makes you feel any better not all of us have easy access to everything... even those of us who live in Sydney. I guess you could use the "ask a Librarian" service - say - at the State Library of NSW. regards Lesley Uebel mailto:ckennedy@bigpond.net.au CLAIM A CONVICT http://users.bigpond.net.au/convicts/index.html -----Original Message----- From: aus-pt-jackson-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-pt-jackson-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of janine h Sent: Sunday, December 28, 2008 9:51 PM To: aus-pt-jackson-convicts@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PJ] Catherine Bradshaw Hi Lesley, Where would I find this type of information please? Hi Lesley, Thank you for your suggestions. Our library has no information what so ever with regards to genealogy. And where to start? Do you know if there is a starter pack or a list of suggestions of books/cd's to get them started? They have no microfiche readers either. I believe they are not a huge size, though the ones with a printer would not fit in the library. (It's about as big as my lounge room and family room combined) I think they also have limitations of the numbers of books according to population, but I can check it out.
