    3. Hi Rosalee, This saga is the subject of an excellent narrative history by Carol Baxter called "Breaking the Bank" published earlier this year by Allen & Unwin. One of my convict ancestors, George DUDLEY who had not long completed his original sentence was found guilty of receiving some of the Promissory notes and headed off to Norfolk Island for 14 years. It is a good read.
