I have a copy of map titled ' Plan of Part of the Southeren End and Suburbs of the City of Sydney ' signed P.L.Bemi (sic) Suryeyor (sic), 1842 and along the southern most part of George Street are listed what looks like the names of six ' public houses '. Starting from the Parramatta Road ( Street ) end : Hope & Anchor Wheatsheaf Dog & Duck Black Swan Steam (?) Engine Odd Fellows These pubs appear to be to the right of the Devonshire Street Cemetery and I'm hoping that someone may have some information about these establishments. Hears hoping. Arnie
