    1. [PJ] Convicts Edward Jones and Ann Lord

    3. Hi Lesley and everyone else I have a question about the children of convicts Edward Jones (Tellicherry) and Ann Lord (Broxbornebury). Re the 2003 listing below they had three children (I tried emailing Pam direct but this is no longer a current email address). They don't appear to have married until 1821 (V18211058 147B/1821 JONES EDWARD LORD ANN). One of the children Edward Jones fathered with Ann Lord was an Elizabeth Lord b. 3 January 1819, christened 13 February 1819, C of E Chronological Indexes, Parish of St John, Paramatta (V18195038 1B/1819 NSW BDM Index). I am trying to track down details for my ancester Esther Lord who was born in the colony of NSW around 1819-1820 (parents unknown), and married Joseph Sibrey/Sibraa (both of North Richmond) on 20 April 1837 in Pitt Town, NSW, and I am having no luck finding any records for her anywhere under that name. I was just wondering if anyone knows what became of the child Elizabeth Lord - who she married, etc., and what the names of the other two children were? Kind regards Helen *From:* pamela hayes <pamhayes@iprimus.com.au> *Subject:* [PJ] Ships Ahoy - Tellicherry *Date:* Fri, 21 Mar 2003 09:25:15 +1100 Much has already been written about the 'Tellicherry' and its Irish convicts. I will only add another convict name transported on board same. May I also recommend Lesley Uebel's previously presented material HRA Secretary A. Marsden to Governor King 22 Feb, 1806 My convict was Edward Jones sentenced as an Irish Rebel in Londonderry. He married Ann Lord from the Broxbornebury but except for fathering three children, he is then something of a 'lost soul'. My information about Edward came from Elizabeth Hook's great book Journey to a New Life: The Story of the ships Emu in 1812 and Broxbornbeury in 1814 What I have not been able to fathom - were Irish Rebels in the north of Ireland in 1800? Would he have just been caught there? Most material I have read related to the "Tellicherry Five" Has anyone searched for an "Edward Jones" there are so many. It is possible he is 'still alive' as he seems not to appear on death registers! His wife remarried in 1832. Elizabeth Hook states he was deceased in 1828 - anyone any success in their research? Puzzled Pam
